something like:
host: myhostname
domain: xyz1234.onion
so
myhostname.xyz1234.onion
something like:
host: myhostname
domain: xyz1234.onion
so
myhostname.xyz1234.onion
Is this required / useful for something?
I foresee a permissions problem, that can be fixed. In Whonix 8 is a bug, that username and hostname are hardcoded in /etc/sudoers.d. Will be fixed in Whonix 9.
Example /etc/sudoers.d. Original.
Should change.
Fix the other files in /etc/sudoers.d as well.
I am afraid so^^ some site installs and additional services other than just http require it.
If you’re interested, why it’s “host” by default:
In summary, “should it leak, then we’re all using the same anonymized value”. Needless to say, using multiple Whonix-Workstations might be indicated.
yep, I know… as I am using multiple workstations with different onion addresses for each service, it should not matter if they are all host.any.onion
