I totally understand developers’ part, I really appreciate your work towards this important and useful project. I’d like to donate, but I have no anonymous way to do it, as I am not in crypto space yet, i’ll sort this out shortly. You understand that I can not donate to this project with debit or credit card.
It’s ok if developer won’t address this case, but can you indicate the place like forum where I could post this problem, that other users could test it, someone can sort this out w/o developer’s involvement, for example the network pro guys or so.
I tries on Matrix (Element) chat, but the Whonix room is quite dead there, they indicated this place here actually.
I see, I guess I expressed myself not very understandable way, with donation I did not mean to donate and expect to have help from whoever it will be - the donation and this problem I am having are different things, donate also I mentioned as on Whonix pages, not sure if here on forum pages too - there will be a popup after some time staying on page - about donation to project.
Under ..indicate the place like forum where I could post.. I mean the community driven place like Matrix or Discord to discuss this problem with users - not with developers directly as thy have no time for this I know, I normally do mostly on Matrix servers when I have questions or doubts for example about a particular Linux distros or OpenWrt setup related stuff etc.
As I mentioned it works on VirtualBox and I can use it until the next version of Whonix comes to try it on KVM, as lastly use it instead of VBox. Thanks
Ok, I found what I was doing wrong, and this is a small mistake but also not intuitive to understand and easily get messed up.
I purged deleting everything, and reinstalled whole QEMU/KVM - Virt-Manager and imported the Whonix system back, but this does not resolve the case, my mistake was that I was setting the VMs Network as Virtual network Whonix-External: NAT and in fact I needed to set it as …Whonix-Internal: Isolated network which leads to misunderstanding, why? because, in the VirtualBox, internal network intnetis isolated from internet network and serves to set 2 or more VMs in this network only to see each other w/o internet connection. This where I messed in the previous setup.
At some stage I even changed VM’s network into ..Whonix-Internal.. in the previous setup, but I could already have things wrong with configuration and it did not resolve the connection issue then.
I missed also one small and important thing, as I mentioned above - I already looked and compared the Whonix-Workstation network settings with the VM’s, BUT in the system itself and not in Virt-Managet - Network tab, this one is set as … Whonix-Internal… for Whonix-Workstation.
You can close this post, and this can serve as reference page for others, and maybe it can be mentioned on Whonix for KVM manual pages in the future to avoid this small but important issue.
