VirtualBox Guest Additions installation from CD

I have inserted the the Guest Additions CD Image to Whonix-Gateway by pressing host+D, then I noticed the system respond and I try to open the folder where the CD image is, Whonix Gateway returns an error message:

An error occurred while accessing VBOXADDITION the system responded: The requested operation has failed:Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 1: helper faled with: mount: mount point /mnt/cdrom0 does not exist

Two things here.

  1. a known issue:

  2. why not use the simpler and tested instructions from https://www.whonix.org/wiki/VirtualBox_Guest_Additions ?

Shouldn’t it read

sudo mkdir /mnt/cdrom0

rather than

sudo mkdir /mnt/cdrom

?

The /mnt folder doesn’t really matter or does it? You’re most welcome to fix this issue, I am out of ideas.
