Two question about slow speed and antivirus.

The TOR network is currently under DDOS attack, as far as I know.

For that there is this topic now:

Connection / Tor slow / DDoS Attacks against the Tor Network / Most onions timing out before loading

Almost every onion page being loaded is timing out or receiving notification that the site may be down. Also getting a notice on pages that do load that https is unavailable and/or there may be an attacker between me and the page. Is there a way to fix this as my whonix is basically unusable.
