Trouble when booting. "recovering journal" and then crash.

Hello there. This is my first post in this forum and compared to you guys I am not very smart when it comes to computers, so please forgive me if I’m being unclear in some areas.

I’ve been using Whonix for a while now, and so far it’s been a breeze. Well, until today, that is. My Whonix crashed and I shut down the VirtualBox without an ACPI-event. Now, every time I try to turn Whonix on through VirtualBox and after I select *Whonix/GNU Linux in GRUB it only says “Loading Linux 4.19.0-17-amd64…”,“Loading initial ramdisk …” and then “Recovering journal” after which it crashes. I have no idea why it does that. The error message is someting about the “cache being full” and that I should check if there’s enough space on the harddrive, which I have.
I’ve also tried booting into recovery mode, which didn’t work either.

Can you help me? Does anybody have an idea that I could try?
Thank you in advance!

Hello, and welcome to Whonix forums!

Seems like data corruption, data recovery required…

If you need to recover data, see this first (just now written):
Hard Drive Recovery

Data recovery is difficult and it’s unlikely anyone will/can help here. But see:

If no data recovery is required, much easier:
