As the title says, no longer able to open tor after updating the browser

Updated using Tor Browser internal updater?

Any error messages?

Please try starting it from the command line to see if there are any
error messages.

Or alternatively, if you not mind about the profile data to go through
back and forth process that has to the risk to lead nowhere…

yes I was using the internal updater. perhaps this was where I was going wrong, am I only supposed to use the whonix updater?

there was no error messages it simply wouldnt open but I did manage to reinstall it with the whonix updater

i have used the internal updater = working great. (im on 5.0.7)

you can re-install the TBB from whonix updater. or use iceweasel which inside the WS.
