Suggest Trustworthy Tor Hidden Services as Time Sources for sdwdate

bad time:

bvhfrslkkdbncdhv.onion Canal Ético http://denuncias.bufetecarrasco.net
eulkspoobuj2ymt7.onion EUleaks http://preprod.grunen.alienor.com

ok time:

ygzf7uqcusp4ayjs.onion [tor-dev] Graphs - Estimated Traffic Capacity

sdwdate does not use average. It uses median. Average would be really bad if a single remote clock was off by a lot, it would dilute the result. The average of -600, -1, -1 would neglect the time sources that were right and neutralize the sdwdate trust distribution feature.

I don’t know. I wonder if we can get "looks as accurate as NTP (or anything other popular nowadys) so we can blend in the group of host Tor Browser Bundle users.

Nitpick: Tor. Whonix only by extension Whonix. Just stressing this to not create the impression of limitations introduced by Whonix.

I don’t have the reference handy, but the 30 minutes tolerance might be fixed in recent Tor versions.

Probably not.

I would like to archive the proofs to archive.is, does that sound good? How should I add them, after each original link?

My reasoning was that the urls would be shorter compared to archive.org but I would trust the latter more to keep it alive longer

That’s an awesome idea! We ought to do that. I just would have never suggested it due to the workload that creates. If you’re up for it, by all means, please go ahead.

Yes.

Right. archive.org may be better.

Weird timing, archive.org has been down for hours
