[Solved] Whonix Gateway, Virtualbox and network interfaces

Hi all,

at the moment i’m using Whonix-Gateway with 2 other operating systems, on Virtualbox, like this :
Case 1 : Virtualbox–> Whonix Gateway-> Windows XP PRO (to surf anonymously)
Case 2 : Virtualbox–> Whonix Gateway-> Linux KALI (for educational purposes)

In both cases, i followed steps of : Anonymize Other Operating Systems.

All is working well but internet is very slow.
Do you think it’s possible to add a network card (via Virtualbox and for each operating system) in order to have the choice between :

  • launch Windows or Kali via Network Interface 01 (Whonix Gateway) to navigate on the internet,
    or
  • launch Windows or Kali via Network Interface 02 (my Wireless Card) to navigate on the internet.

Regards,

Maybe it is slow because both Whonix-Workstation VMs are sharing the same internal LAN IP?

Why not use Multiple Whonix-Workstations? Please see:

I am not sure I understand the question “Do you think it’s possible to add a network card (via Virtualbox and for each operating system) in order to have the choice between”. Why not use multiple VMs?

Multiple Whonix-Gateway’s is possible as well:

Hi Patrick and thanks for your answer.

I’im working on one VM at a time and i don’t want to install too VMs.
I think i found something interesting on Virtualbo. I will post answer later.
Regards,

Ps : it is really important on Whonix-Gateway to do a “apt-get dist-upgrade” or useless ? I mean, in terms of security.

It really is important.
