I’ve been having trouble for a couple days on how to configure my VPN. I’ve selected PIA, and I’m not sure where to start in https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Tunnels/Connecting_to_a_VPN_before_Tor#VPN_Setup especially since they use risevpn as an example. Should I use this? https://helpdesk.privateinternetaccess.com/hc/en-us/articles/225274288-Which-encryption-auth-settings-should-I-use-for-ports-on-your-gateways- . Also I’m not sure where to install the config, the first time I installed in “Template: whonix-gw Konsole”, but somewhere I read I need to install the VPN Config on Debian/host also? Do I repeat steps just in separate Konsoles.
Don’t miss to read:
It clearly recommends against installing the VPN config inside Whonix template.
Which outgoing port you use for the VPN doesn’t matter. Perhaps 443 goes easier through some restrictive firewalls.
Incoming ports: no need to open any.
Not also. It’s either or. Not both. Don’t use the same VPN provider / config in two places at once.
nothingonme did you try PIA linux client, confirming its working inside Workstation.
