New PC and can no longer run Whonix

I just built a new PC with a fresh install of Windows 11 and I can no longer start Whonix workstation or gateway. It seems to get stuck at different places, sometimes with weird errors about CPU timer handing but sometimes not. Occasionally it starts up normally but that’s rare.

I’ve tried with my existing .vbox files and I also tried creating new virtual machines using the latest versions from the Whonix website. Any ideas what else I can try?

I am unable to provide a screenshot of the output or include a link in this post because the forum won’t allow me to.

Here is the link I was trying to post before:

It doesn’t always come up with these errors but it usually does.

There is no such known issue.

The things you can do to attempt to debug this are mentioned on the wiki page that I linked to in my previous reply.

There’s are no shortcuts. You can only follow the troubleshooting steps on that wiki page or most likely this issue will remain unresolved.

It seems there is a bug that has been around for a number of years with AMD Ryzen processors in VirtualBox and possibly other virtualisation software.

I’ve done quite a bit of research since I posted this question and the workaround is to set the number of processors/cores to 1. Since changing this everything seems to be working normally.
