New Identity in Gateway not working

Best to “forget” about this button for now. It’s maybe the worst named button in Whonix. We plan to improve the wording of that button in a future version thanks to you bringing this up. I posted just now in the development forum thread:

So what that button actually does:

Label / Button: Request new Tor circuit
Text below: Use a fresh Tor route for new connections. This asks Tor to build new circuits, so future connections might take a different path (and might use a different Tor exit relay). Technically, this sends signal NEWNYM to Tor. For more information, see Stream Isolation: Easy.

And that’s it. No more. No less.
