In whonix workstation is it safe to change your wallpaper, change the theme and color scheme and pin apps to the panel or does it change the fingerprint?
It depends on whether you trust the applications running in the workstation or not. Any change you make to the system can be used as part of a fingerprint, and any unsandboxed application in the workstation (and possibly some sandboxed ones) can be used to form part of a fingerprint, including wallpaper, theme, color scheme, etc. changes. If you only need to stay anonymous when browsing the Web, it’s probably not an issue, but if you need to stay anonymous even if the workstation is compromised by malware, you probably should avoid changing anything you don’t absolutely have to.
