Is our reasoning valid or overly cautious?
tb-starter by Whonix developers (/usr/bin/torbrowser) is just a wrapper
to start Tor Browser. Advanced users may circumvent tb-starter. You
could start a DVM template konsole.
Then start Tor Browser from command line by not using torbrowser
(/usr/bin/torbrowser). (Similar Tor Browser Essentials
) Go to /var/cache/tb-binary
folder.
Make your modifications. Shut down the DVM Template.
The /usr/bin/torbrowser function refusing the start can also be easily
overwritten using a /etc/torbrowser.d config snippet.
A safer / cleaner way to modify Tor Browser’s profile may be to not
start it but drop the appropriate config files.
