Help! permission denied

I apologise if this question has already been asked but i couldnt find it so thought i’d make a new post.

I am trying to write to a file and apparently dont have read/write permissions to do so, so I logged in a root and tried to access it via command but still get Permission Denied.

help?!

much appreciated, guys

Don’t login as root into the graphical login manager. This is likely to break something.

Don’t become root “sudo su” and start graphical applications as root.

Login as normal user and then use something like.

Then you can edit the file.

Or.

Then the whole file manager is started as root and you can go to any file.

Thank you for a quick and straight forward response. have a good day
