Anonymity risks while leaving Whonix-Gateway connected

Is there any anonymity risks like identity correlation or timing attacks when I do not run any Whonix-Workstation (e.g. Tor browser or other application) but leave the Whonix-Gateway connected, i.e. Tor Control Panel saying “Connected to the Tor network!”?

Or should I “Stop Tor” on Tor Control Panel (Whonix-Gateway) after I am finished with my activity on Tor and only connect when I need Tor access again through a Whonix-Workstation? There might be some hours in between.

What is better in terms of anonymity and security to prevent identity correlation or timing attacks?

There is no such advice.

Do Multiple Things at Once implies more usage is better.

Unspecific to Whonix.

Best to investigate as per:

I suggest to remove the Whonix specific part of your question and rephrase it as a general Tor question directed at the Tor community.
