Adding whonix repository to Ubuntu and installing the scurl-download app on Ubuntu? How to?

I am using Ubuntu 26.04 Desktop, and I want to use the scurl-download command that is provided in Whonix 18. Could someone please walk me through the step by step on how I can add the whonix repository to Ubuntu, and install the scurl app on Ubuntu? I have tried the instructions layed out here:

but it doesn’t work, and the instructions are outdated. Please help me get the scurl-download command working on Ubuntu.

Whonix’s packages fundamentally do not work on Ubuntu. They are built for Debian, as Whonix is a Debian derivative. Installing the packages on Ubuntu is likely to cause trouble.

scurl-download is a light wrapper around wcurl, which is available on Ubuntu 26.04. You can probably just drop the script into /usr/local/bin and have it work. See:
