What do you think about linking to ahmia.fi from Whonix’s desktop?
I personally rarely see any desktop VM desktop due to mostly using
Qubes. So it’s not my priority and I want to spend as little time as
possible on the whonix-[gw|ws]-desktop shortcuts packages. I even
considered deprecating them.
Every small thing adds up taking time. For example, just the duplicate
Tor Browser shortcut on the desktop that is super minor and could just
be deleted created at least two support requests.
So no, at least until someone spends more time and Non-Qubes-Whonix
maintenance.
I haven’t thought through any other implications yet.
At the moment Whonix has the bear minimum of important shortcuts so I think its best to keep the ones we have and not add anymore. Adding an extra one for ahmia will clutter the desktop too.
How about adding it to the Whonix TBB offline page instead?
After all Whonix is built around anonymity networks and it makes sense to point people to a portal where they can discover whats out there.
