2 Whonix-Gateways vs 2 Physical Devices

Another question: Tor Entry Guards are persistent: “Tor Entry Guards - Whonix

Using a new set of Tor entry guards by using a second Whonix-Gateway (with another Tor entry guard) degrades anonymity.
Tor Entry Guards - Whonix

What if I use two devices both with Whonix for different activities, i.e. these devices will use different Tor entry guards like using two Whonix-Gatways on one device would do.

Does the same risk of degrading anonymity apply when using two separate devices with Whonix? If this is the case or not, why?

Derived from that is the general recommendation to use only one device for Tor activities instead of two?

Question can be rephrased.

What if one uses two installations of Tor (or Tor Browser) on two different computers?

This makes the question unspecific to Whonix.

Can be resolved as per:

There is no inter-communication between different devices. The Tor that runs on each device knows nothing about the other Tor running on the other device.

So no, it’s not guaranteed that these use different Tor entry guards. Likely, maybe, guaranteed, surely not.

Depends on the threat model. If advanced attacks on anonymity are considered a higher risk, use 1 device. If security issues are considered a higher risk, use 2 devices. There is no perfect solution.

I really appreciate your great support and giving insights to specific risks.

The rephrasing of the question was very helpful to get clarity too.
