Using Whonix Gateway with other OS's

Hello, I wasn’t sure which forum to put this in.

I was wondering if there are any security concerns with using the gateway with a different OS VM other than the workstation. In other words, creating a new VM with a different Linux distro and configuring the network to pass traffic through the gateway.

Here is an example of what I mean: - YouTube

Will all the same security apply (difficult to discover host IP, malware with root privileges cant find IP, etc)?

I really like experimenting with different OS’s and the gateway seems a good way to make everything flow through Tor. Are there any issues with doing this?

Thank you! Sorry, I missed those instructions. I was able to set it up in FreeBSD! :grinning:

Do you know if the freebsd instructions would work for OpenBSD as well?
