so wth am I supposed to do about these sys-whonix NTP errors ??

ERROR: Systemd Clock Check Result:
Unexpected results by timedatectl.
timedatectl_output_pretty:
Local time: Sat 2018-05-26 04:24:34 UTC
Universal time: Sat 2018-05-26 04:24:34 UTC
RTC time: n/a
Time zone: Etc/UTC (UTC, +0000)
NTP enabled: yes
NTP synchronized: no
RTC in local TZ: no
DST active: n/a
It is generally recommended to keep the default as per Whonix Design. [1] If you did not change timezone related settings, please report this Whonix bug. If you know what you are doing and changed this on purpose, feel free to disable this check. [2]

[1] Whonix ™ Networking Implementation Documentation
[2] Create a file /etc/whonix.d/50_whonixcheck_user and add:
whonixcheck_skip_functions+=" check_systemd_clock "

since I probably “don’t know what I’m doing” … updating the time in dom0 was no help

Hi mT8RQf

This will be fixed in Whonix 14 as per:

https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/3469

Note:

In the future, please type any error messages, keywords, questions, etc in the forum search engine (upper right hand corner of your screen). This keeps information on a topic from being spread out over multiple forum threads.

Using the following snippet from the error message…

"ERROR: Systemd Clock Check Result:
Unexpected results by timedatectl.
timedatectl_output_pretty:

Produces several “hits” including the following thread which answers your question (provides a temporary solution). This thread can also be used for any follow up questions.

https://forums.whonix.org/t/qubes-r4-0-rc4-system-time-errors/4844

P.S. This is not a big deal. I do this myself on occasion
